Ramu Kannan is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at CityMD, a rapidly growing urgent care company based in New York City. Ramu is a part of the CSuite that helps define the vision, purpose and strategic objectives of CityMD, and engage with payer and provider organizations in implementing processes and solutions to ensure better outcomes and continuity of care for patients. Ramu is also leading the patient digital experience initiatives at CityMD, which includes implementing kiosks, patient portal, telemedicine and real time integration of patient medical records across the provider ecosystem.
Ramu has more than 20 years experience in healthcare information technology. He has served in an executive role in many large healthcare organizations including 13 years at Humana. Prior to joining Humana, Ramu was the CTO at two software companies that built healthcare related software systems. These solutions were implemented at multiple Fortune 500 companies including Raytheon, Allied Signal (Honeywell), Time Inc., Wachovia, Medtronics, Boston Scientific, Humana and MIT. Ramu is a graduate of Syracuse University, and holds a PhD in Information Systems.
